What is the Text feature?
In Connect, the Text feature is an easy way for a visitor to get in touch with a real person instead of a Chatbot. The Text button is housed inside of Connect Chat. This provides visitors a quick and easy visual in order to get in touch with a human working at the dealership, without making an actual phone call. This is particularly helpful if the user has an inquiry and is getting frustrated with speaking to Chat. Read more about Connect Chat.
How does the Text button work?
Clicking on the Text button will open a new form that asks for the visitor’s first name, last name, phone number and message. At the end of that message, the user clicks on the blue button that says “Text me.” Upon clicking “Text me,” an ADF is sent to your CRM via the email address provided in Connect settings. The module will be listed as “SMS” with the details of the message appearing in the comments section. After the visitor sends the message, they will receive an automatic “Thank you” message from Connect.
SMS notification - You can provide one or several phone numbers to receive a notification when a new Text is received. Note, this section will only appear if you are using Connect chat. The SMS notification reads:
New SMS received! {$name} can be reached at {$phone} {$leadPage} Message: "{$message}}”
To enable SMS notifications, you must provide at least one phone number:
- Login to the Connect dashboard
- Settings > Modules
- Scroll down to Chat section and click “Add Phone” under SMS notification.
How is the Text feature activated?
