One of the metrics that is always being measured by Connect is the percentage of your website visitors that were meaningfully engaged by Connect. This metric can be seen on the Overview page on your dashboard.
Previously, Connect would define an engagement as any time a user saw any opportunity to convert on Connect. This would include anything from seeing the minihome or widget, being shown a notification, or even just scrolling past a CTA on a VDP or SRP on which Connect was implemented.
In order to improve data accuracy and to ensure that our metrics are speaking to Connect’s value, this metric has been modified slightly. Now, simply seeing a CTA on a page will not be considered an “engagement.” Only meaningful engagements, which your website could not have provided without Connect, will now be counted.
This change can be seen beginning in February 2020. If the metric of “Visitors Engaged by Connect” seems lower than it has in previous months– this is why. This drop is not troubling, though– it simply reflects only meaningful engagements that would not have occurred without Connect.
