Acquire has a set of default images that it utilizes in Social and Display ads, across different Objectives and Bundles. Your dealership might decide that it would prefer to replace these images with new ones, that might be more branded or specific to your store, strategy, or market. This can be done inside of your AutoLeadStar Platform.
To do so, go to Settings > Acquire > Images. Acceptable image files include JPEG, PNG. Max file size should be 2MB.
Automatic Image Placements
Each Template in your Social and Display Ads will utilize an image. Depending on the content of the Template, Acquire will choose the most appropriate category of image with which to publicize your ad. For example, an ad promoting Oil Changes will use the images provided for “Oil Changes” instead of the more general “Service” images.
Each category of image supports both a Landscape and Square image, to be used in several different types of ads. If you replace the default images provided by Acquire, the Templates that use those images will be updated accordingly. It is up to the customer to make sure that the custom images they upload into the Acquire image setting page are compliant.
Please note: AutoLeadStar will maintain a compliant OEM brand image for Templates and Ads that speak to your OEM Brand, the distinction is made if/ when your Dealership Brand image also includes your OEM brand image in some graphic combination; we do not update and maintain your custom Dealership logo. If you would like to edit and upload new images in the Acquire image settings, these custom images must be maintained and their compliance status assured by the customers.
Your DXM or the technical support team can help you update these custom images. Feel free to email email@example.com to request help with this.
Editing Images in Acquire
If you’d like to edit the image that is used in a specific Template and replace it with another image altogether, or another image from your Acquire account, you can do so from your dashboard.
Go to the Channel in discussion (Social or Display), and click Templates. From there you can duplicate and edit any of the Templates in that channel. Opening a Template, you’ll see that one of the fields that can be edited is the Image.
You can either replace the image with a new custom image, that you can upload, or with one of the images already uploaded to Acquire. To do so, click Add Merge Tag to see a list of all of your images.
Making changes to one template will not change any other Template in your account. Only changes made in your Settings will affect several Templates.
Inventory Images in Acquire
Inventory images can come from one of three sources in Acquire: a dealership website, an inventory feed, or the OEM itself.
Inventory Images from a Dealer Website
When the AutoLeadStar code snippet is inserted on a dealership's website, we are able to use the information listed onsite to create inventory ads. We leverage the year, make, model, VIN, terms, and sometimes trim as well as the image the dealership website has on the website. Vin level ads will always show the image on the dealer website as a default, unless an inventory feed or some other custom arrangement in place on the account.
You may also choose to restricted certain images (like coming soon photos) so that they AutoLeadStar platform doesn't pull in images that don't display vehicles. Read more about restricting images here.
Inventory Images from the OEM
If the dealership is using OEM offers then AutoLeadStar will pull in the OEM offer information along with stock images that come from the OEM to match the incentive.
Inventory Images from an Inventory Feed
If the images on the website are not high quality, or for whatever reason a dealership would like to use others, we suggest setting up an inventory feed and supplying AutoLeadStar with alternative, preferred images in this manner. Whatever images that are included in the feed will appear in the Ads related to those vehicle offers.
